After all my begging for Square Enix to do interviews with the voice talent, Square Enix have just done an interview with Liz Sutherland, otherwise known to us as Bolo Santosi.
Check out the interview on the official website www.justcause.com or check out the wonderful Bolo Santosi soundboard created by Poor Bison in the Just Cause 2 Game Information section.
Everybody has been dying to get there hands on some Just Cause 2 concepts, including me... and this is the second artwork to be released from the developers.
Meet Tom Sheldon; longtime Agency operative, who first came into Agency employ in the late sixties. He was active during the various Agency black ops of the Vietnam war (including ops in Laos and Cambodia).
We should be seeing a few more concepts within the next couple weeks, and don't forget... the Boom Pack comes out next week!
Last week I ran a twitter competition with great success and produced three winners instead of one!
This week, it's the turn of Square Enix to award the worthy with some prizes; in return for your artwork!
Now they're not asking you to create a masterpiece like the Karl Blaine concept artwork, but really try your best. It could be anything from a poster, concept artwork, cereal box or even Just Cause 2 Stickmen style!
Here's the official announcement on the Just Cause 2 website:
After showing off all the incredible fan made Just Cause 2 inspired art we’ve amassed over the past twelve months, we decided we wanted more. Yep, call us greedy if you like but with so much talent out there we just couldn’t help ourselves. So we’re willing to make a trade – you design us a piece of Just Cause 2 fan art and we’ll reward our five favourites with a state of the art* Just Cause 2 t-shirt.
To enter, simply create your masterpiece and email it to us at sels[at]square-enix[dot]com. We’ll pick our favourites over the next seven days and let you know if you’ve won. Couldn’t be simpler.
Anyone can enter and anyone can win (though our decision is final). Just remember your submission must be in the form of a picture and must be Just Cause 2 related. Oh, and you can enter as many times as you want.
*possibly over selling it, but they are fancy – and 100% cotton!
So there you have it... get cracking with those masterpieces. You have until Monday morning to send in your submissions!
Some Just Cause 2 artwork is now emerging, and they are seriously awesome!
The first artwork to be revealed is of Karl Blaine, undercover as a field worker for a Swedish agricultural development organization known as Mothers for Fruit for Life.
We should be seeing more concept artwork hopefully very soon!
This is an official twitter competition so you will need to follow me (@movura) here: http://www.twitter.com/movura and retweet for your chance to win a Just Cause 2 goodie bag filled with a Prima Guide, 2 T-shirts and some other little JC2 goodies!
Most of you already know the pack coming out next week. The first pack entitled the Black Market Aerial Pack, due for release on 29th April, will contain the following goodies for (£1.36, 160 Microsoft Points):
F-33 Dragon Fly Jet Fighter: a versatile attack aircraft, equipped with twin missiles and quad-mounted mini-guns
Multi-lock Missile Launcher: a devastating weapon of destruction featuring laser-guided auto-lock on up to four targets
Parachute Dual Thrusters: twin parachute-mounted jets which transform Rico’s trademark parachute into one of the most nimble and powerful attack platforms.
All of the above are pretty awesome and will make Just Cause 2 twice as much fun, guaranteed.
However, on May 25th there will be yet another pack - called the Black Market Boom Pack - on it's way for the same price, containing even more Just Cause 2 goodness. Just look at what's to come:
Quad Rocket Launcher: half shotgun, half rocket launcher, all carnage
Cluster Bomb Launcher: the natural successor to the grenade launcher
Air Propulsion Gun: a highly experimental jet-powered blast weapon, powerful enough to send vehicles and soldiers skywards.
I don't know about you, but I am seriously looking forward to the Air Propulsion Gun. In fact, I am really looking forward to the Cluster Bomb... someone HAS to mod it into a banana bomb! Kamikaze... oh no!
It's definitely something to look forward to, so keep practising!
Mike Oldman, our favourite Community Manager at Square Enix London Studios (aka Mycoldman) will be speaking at the Develop conference along with Jim Blackhurst (Online Operations Manager) down in Brighton, which is being held between the 13th - 15th July.
They will be there to talk about opening up player metrics to the community in Just Cause 2, or as none-geeky people will call it, Stat tracking, which was designed by Mike and developed by Jim. I'm definitely going to try and go... it's a lot of money, but will be interesting to see what they have to say about it, and also listen to the other speakers.
